DaCRA gives high priority to stimulate PhD-education and internationalization by supporting travelling and accommodation expenses for PhD-students visiting foreign laboratories abroad.
PhD-students can apply for max 100.000 DKK per year, covering travel expenses for at least 6 months. Only financial aid to travelling and accommodation expenses can be applied for, as it is expected that the students bring their own salary with them. PhD-students can also apply for travels of shorter duration. However, the purpose of the travel should be strictly educational.
The application must be electronic and include the following information:
- The CV for the PhD-student with a description of his/hers research area.
- A budget of the amount applied for.
- Information about Danish supervisors.
- A brief CV for the foreign supervisor.
- A statement of the reason why this visit would be an advantage for the PhD-project.
- An invitation from the foreign supervisor.
All enrolled PhD-students who are members of DaCRA can send in their applications which are dealt with continuously.
Travel fellowships will be payed to the recipient’s bank account 14 days before the travel, and the account should be presented within 14 days after returning to Denmark, together with a short report of the benefit of the travel for the individual PhD-student.
To get support from DaCRA, it is demanded that the PhD-student first applies for travel support at the Faculty PhD-School. At KU-SUND a support of 10,000 DKK per month can be expected. The written answer from the Faculty should be included in the application.
